Is now really the time to include geopolitical risk in France and Europe in business continuity plans ?

In fact, some establishments with subsidiaries or branches in countries identified as presenting this type of risk have already introduced it. In the light of the recent French parliamentary elections and a general increase in the representation of more ‘radical’ parties across Europe, some thought is being given to this issue.  In fact, certain “essential functions” could hypothetically be affected by interruptions to services, destruction of mail, disruption to transport, or even unwanted intrusions. So yes, we invite you to ask yourself this question if you haven’t already. We remember mentioning the risk of a pandemic in BCPs back in 2007, when we pointed out the risk of containment during an outbreak of SARS. At the time, we received a lot of smiles… but it happened.
